This photo is very special. It is the very first photo taken of Benny, Loryn and I...Ever. You see, he had just stepped off of the airplane in Lafayette, Louisiana on June 12, 1999 for a visit with the girl in Louisiana he met online. I handed the camera over to a stranger and the photo was snapped quickly. Gee, we look so young.. and thin! Loryn was not yet 3. I always laugh at this photo...It is SUMMER... In LOUISIANA... and he was wearing wool pants and long sleeve shirt. I had to bring him shopping very quickly as he planned to spend 3 weeks and it is WAY TOO HOT to wear long sleeves and wool pants on some days in winter, much less in JUNE. He learned quickly!

As with your (now) hubby, when Peter first came to the US we had to buy a completely new wardrobe because it was the beginning of summer and he had no summer clothes to speak of. His first summer here in Virginia with near 100-degree weather just about killed him.
