Bedstemor and Bedstefar Experience Louisiana

I wanted Bedstemor and Bedstefar to experience a little of Louisiana during their trip here this summer. While on their previous visits to Louisiana in the last 10 years, we had toured:

New Iberia area -Avery Island, the Tabasco factory and Rip Van Winkle Gardens.

New Orleans -Cafe' Du Monde and the Aquarium of the Americas and the Audubon Zoo and the Mardi Gras Weekend Parades,

We took them along with Cousin Casper to The Coushatta Tribe Reservation to visit Camp Coushattaand the museum to learn about the Native American Culture of the Coushatta Tribe(My sister-in-law, Missy, and my two Little nieces, Shyla and Autumn are tribal members.) As well as the Casino Resort for a meal at 7 Clans.


Local Jennings and Jeff Davis Parish area attractions like the Tupper Museum, the Telephone museum, and the Chateau des Cocodries (Alligator House) where you can hold baby alligators.

They have visited Loryn at the Hathaway School.

They took Loryn and Casper to the Sulphur SPAR water park with Loryn's friend, Lindsey's, family.

And we have had several meals at Lake Charles' L'Auberge du Lac Le Beau-coup Buffet.

We have attended the Lake Charles 12th night celebration watching the Kings and Queens of the Southwest Louisiana Mardi Gras krewes ( the second largest groups of Mardi Gras Krewes in Louisiana after New Orleans) parade through the Civic Center in all of their gowns and finery.
