Loryn's new Girl SCout troop takes a lot of Field trips. Loryn and her best buddy Lindsey are now Caddetts, and Lindsey's little sister, Faith is a Daisy, now!
Loryn and I met Lindsey during Swimming lessons in Pre-K. Faith was just a little premie baby then, only 6 months old. Even though the girls go to different schools, Loryn and Lindsey have been best friends forever! The Girls' mom, Becky and I enjoy taking the girls places, especially in the summer! Loryn and Lindsey have switched Girl Scout troops several times since joining Daisies, but have always stayed together!
A field to Grant's Christmas Tree Farm is the perfect place to get into the Christmas Spirit. It was really cold that morning and we huddled around the fire drinking cocoa after eating a plate of biscuts with Cane Syrup for breakfast in the little log cabin. We watched the donkey grind the sugar cane and squeeze the juice and were told how it was boiled down to make syrup. After a look around the craft items where Loryn bought herself a cute new Santa hat, we took a hay ride around the Christmas trees. I bought a few jugs of syrup, one for me and some to send to family in Denmark. I also bought some fresh ground corn meal...Cornbread and syrup sounds so good, doesn't it?
